NEW and Old Library of Strovolos – Nicosia
The old building of the elementary school made of stone built on 1930 has been converted into temporary municipality and now is the exhibition space of the Library of the Municipality of Strovolos, Nicosia Cyprus. The green area in front of the building used to be the school yard where the kids of the neighborhood used to play.
Constraints:
The monument should be protected and care should be taken to show its history through the light.
The green area in front of the building is open.
A very demanding architect interfering in our work.
Control system: Lighting control with the possibility of dimming. The buildings have two separate control systems with the possibility to unite them.
The pendant fixtures of 3X35 W HIT illuminate the area of the panels and the steps behind the glass. Inside the exhibition area in ground linear with fluorescent lamps give a good view of the walls of the old ceiling. The in ground 1W LED are showing the end of the pavement outside of the building.
