Daylight study
The sunpath diagram for the latidute of 35 degrees with the use of fish lenses. It shows the loss of the daylight due to the construction of a building in front. This study was used to verify the results of the software Ecocect for the calculation of the shade created by the new building. The client wanted to use this study to defend his case in the court.
The calculation of the daylight factor is not recommended for the Mediterranean countries like Cyprus. Since the difference of the light intensity before and after the alterations in the building was vital, the distribution of the luxes was taken into consideration.
Physical model in combination with the Sundial diagram.
This was used for the study of daylight in the interior of a residence in Nicosia. The aim of the study is to check the visual comfort in the interior and study the form of the pergolas outside.
